Drought in the village: Report form a man on site
There's a man who lives in the village who is a teacher and is volunteering his timeto help manage the water project and feeds back to us on the progress. His latest progress report on all village business fills us with concern.
We need to get the borehole completed!
"Hi All,
I'm sorry to tell you the water situation in the village is the worst anyone can remember in 40 years. The stream that everyone goes to for water when the mains is off has almost dried up, and villagers are having to walk several hours to get water from a stream much further away. He says that were it not for the borehole, he would have closed the college. The water main is turned on for 40mins late at night, at very low pressure, so it doesn’t really help at all.
The situation is dire.
It appears we are going to need another borehole near the new homes being built. And we haven't managed yet to secure the Solar installation so more fundraising needed to be done.
Everyone is waiting for the rains to arrive – this will probably be sometime in May/June.....",
Until then all the villagers are relying on your support.
