In 2024, with the generous support of GlobalGiving donors, Hands for Charity successfully constructed 11 water wells across Chad and Niger—7 in Niger and 4 in Chad—providing access to clean and safe drinking water for 2,940 people living in underserved rural communities. These wells have replaced unsafe and distant water sources, significantly reducing the risk of waterborne diseases and ensuring reliable access to clean water close to home. For many of these communities, this represents their first sustained access to safe drinking water.
The impact of this project extends well beyond immediate health benefits. With water now readily available, women and children no longer spend hours each day collecting water, allowing children to attend school more consistently and families to focus on income generation and community development. Designed to serve hundreds of people for many years, each well represents a sustainable investment in health, dignity, and opportunity. Through your continued support, Hands for Charity is creating lasting change in Chad and Niger—one well at a time.
