We have completed the preparatory work for our "Road to the Future" Career guidance and guidance programme. Thanks to the information provided by the experts, 1 group of 16 children (12-16 years old) was ready to start the programme. However, the amount of funding currently available does not cover the costs of the 60-hour programme and related activities.
As indicated in the previous report, in the absence of funding for the full programme, the programme will be implemented with reduced content or fewer modules, in the form of thematic camps. This was done, as follows.
The currently available grant amount was used to support the "Befogadlak" Baptist Children's Home thematic summer camp for the children.
This programme was a self-awareness and personal development thematic camp, the content of which covered the first two modules of our "Road to the Future" project.
The camp was attended by 20 children and 3 professionals. With the help of a psychologist and educational experts, the children revealed their strengths and weaknesses, their interests, their favourite pastimes and hobbies. This helped them to learn about and accept their own personalities and to tolerate differences.
The programme followed a pre-planned theme. The 6-day, 5-night programme also provided recreational opportunities for the children.
Exercises, role-playing and group activities helped to develop a correct, realistic self-image and to set goals to achieve. This is essential for an informed career guidance process.
If further funding and income allow, we will continue to implement the other modules of the project with the target group.
If we are honoured with additional funding, we will be ready with a full team to implement the entire project if funding is available.
