Hello GlobalGiving supporters!

We are thrilled to report that one of our WeOwnTV Filmmaker Fellows, Tyson, has just been awarded a Jackson Wild Emerging Filmmaker Scholarship. Tyson has been invited to attend the festival as a Jackson Wild Emerging Filmmakerscholar for the 2019 Jackson Wild Summit! The Jackson Wild Summit will take place in Jackson Hole, WY September 21-27.

Tyson has had quite a 2019 so far; in February, his documentary, Standing Among the Living, world premiered at the Miami International Film Festival and was then broadcast on the BBC; he was a cameraman and field-producer on SURVIVORS, which was broadcast on PBS's award-winning program POV and has been nominated for a Peabody and an Emmy Award in 2019; and he is in post-production on a powerful feature-length film, Speaking in Dreams, in which he embarks on a spiritual journey to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of his girlfriend Fatmata who bled to death after a female circumcision ritual she was forced to participate in.
