This project helps to fill the immediate and ongoing need to feed at-risk horses and burros that would otherwise go without, and it advocates for their care and protection. At-risk horses and burros served by WFLF are provided with quality nutritious food, loving care, and safe and peaceful habitats. Their healing and triumph over starvation and hunger in turn inspires good will, hope and compassion.
Support received through WFLF’s Hay Donation Drive helps to fund the purchase and delivery of high-quality food which provides nutritional meals for horses and burros in need, regardless of their origin/ breed, age, gender, or lack of training. A constant supply of nutritional hay is life for these animals and regular deliveries are essential to their care and survival.
Along with fuel prices and everything else, the cost of hay has increased tremendously in recent months. On average our charity purchases 45-50 bales of hay every month to feed at-risk equines in need. Our costs to feed the at-risk horses and burros under our care has gone up from an average of $2,000 a month for hay, grains and supplements to $2,500 just for hay. The cost for grains and supplements is on top of that. Over the last few months support received through this project has continued to help purchase nutritional hay and feed for horses in need and that's why this project is so important.
WFLF’s rescue and crisis assistance missions have saved hundreds of horses and burros over the years—the majority of whom would likely otherwise starved and or would have gone to slaughter without the meaningful support of devoted supporters like you.
We thank all our supporters for helping to make this possible. It takes all of us working together to assure America’s horses and burros receive the care and protection they need.
As always, we thank you for supporting the Wild For Life Foundation (WFLF).
Yours for the horses and burros in need,
Wild For Life Foundation (WFLF)
