During the winter, breaking the fog we have been able to bring some sunshine into the lives of the 15 widows of Fushë Kosovë / Kosovo Polje by distributing food packages.
Fushe Kosova was full of fog that day that I went to visit Bukurije and her sons. She welcomed us with a big smile on her face.She started to tell me about how hard it was for her when her husband passed away by letting her be the head of the family.
''It's been ten years since my husband passed away, but the memories of him are still fresh. Being a mother of three kids, without having any income to take care of my kids, just made me feel useless. This is the life you have to be patient and wait until the storm passes to find the power somewhere inside your soul and to go on. May God bless everyone who has helped me through hard times and gives you health, happiness, love, and wealth," said Bukurije.
Thank you to all of you donors who helped Bukurije and the Widows of Fushë Kosovë / Kosovo Polje get through the storms of life and make them believe that there are still people in the world who care about other people.
