Provide Winter Relief To Tirah Valley IDPs

As winter sets in across the northern regions of Pakistan, flood-affected families in District Ghizer, Gilgit-Baltistan, face harsh cold conditions without proper shelter or bedding. To provide immediate warmth and comfort, Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan has distributed winter blankets among the most vulnerable families.

Relief Impact

• Warm blankets distributed to families living in temporary shelters

• Special focus on children, elderly, and women who are most at risk in extreme cold

• Support provided in areas where temperatures are already dropping below freezing

Story of Change

An elderly man in Ghizer, holding his new blanket, said with gratitude:

“We lost everything in the floods, but this blanket will help me sleep in the freezing nights. May Allah reward those who remembered us.”

His words reflect the hope and dignity these small acts of compassion bring to those enduring difficult winters.

Use of Funds / Progress

With the generous support of our GlobalGiving donors, Alkhidmat has been able to:

• Distribute winter blankets to dozens of families in Ghizer

• Ensure flood survivors stay protected against the cold

• Continue providing food, shelter, and medical aid alongside winter relief

Future Plans / Next Steps

As winter intensifies, Alkhidmat aims to:

• Expand blanket distribution to other flood-hit districts of Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

• Provide winterized tents and warm clothing for displaced families

• Continue holistic relief efforts including food, health, and shelter support
