As winter sets in and temperatures drop sharply, thousands of Syrian families—especially displaced households—face extremely harsh living conditions. In camps and conflict-affected areas, families lack basic heating resources, exposing children and the elderly to serious health risks caused by cold weather, damp shelters, and inadequate housing.
In response to this urgent need, Saed Relief and Development implemented a winter heating support project focused on the distribution of coal as a primary heating material. The project aimed to assist the most vulnerable families by providing them with a reliable source of warmth to endure freezing winter nights.
This humanitarian intervention helped reduce cold-related health risks, including respiratory illnesses and severe winter infections, particularly among children and elderly individuals. It also offered families a sense of safety and temporary stability within their tents or damaged homes, enabling them to heat their living spaces and prepare meals despite the challenging conditions.
The coal distributed was more than a heating material—it was a symbol of solidarity and compassion. It reassured struggling families that their suffering had not been forgotten and that support was reaching them during one of the most difficult seasons of the year. Many families expressed deep gratitude for this assistance, which played a crucial role in protecting their children from extreme cold.
We extend our sincere thanks to all donors and supporters who made this winter heating project possible. Your continued generosity and sharing of this report with family and friends help expand the reach of humanitarian aid and ensure that more Syrian families receive the warmth and protection they urgently need during the winter season.
