Mariana, a young entrepreneur from Puesto Los Pérez, strengthens her business to support her education
Mariana is 22 years old and lives in the rural community of Puesto Los Pérez, in southern Tucumán. She is part of the entrepreneurial group "Manos Artesanas," which produces homemade jams. She is currently in her second year of a History Teaching degree at the Higher Education Institute in La Cocha, located about 20 km from her home.
She started her business to finance her studies. For Mariana, participating in the digital literacy workshop at her community’s connectivity center was a turning point. There, she learned to use digital tools to better manage production costs, improve financial planning, and increase the profitability of her products. She also discovered design tools that help her promote her jams on social media.
Thanks to these new skills, Mariana has been able to grow her business and take another step toward her dream of becoming a teacher. Her story reflects the real and lasting impact that access to training and technology can have on the lives of young women in rural areas.
