While pig farming in rural Myanmar has had challenges in the past, overall, it is an extremely successful program in our partnerships. Here is what a participant from Htet Lone said about her experience.
“I’m the one in my family who is leading this pig farming project. I’m satisfied as I am able to manage our family finances very well, using the profit earned from pig farms. My plan is to extend my pig farm up to 30 pigs. As I usually gain 60,000 ks ($46 USD) as profit after 6 months, if I can raise 30 pigs, I would earn around 1,800,000 ks ($1,385 USD) as profit. If I would raise pigs two times a year, I would gain a lot of profit! I am so excited to continue my pig farming. I can’t wait to make it happen. But all these good things happen to me because of the support of Shanta. My heartfelt thanks and appreciation go to Shanta for taking this systematic approach with us, which makes much profit that we’ve never experienced before.”
