Introduction & Gratitude

Our partnership with GlobalGiving has enabled Darfur Women Network (DWN) to continue providing life-saving assistance for women and children who fled ongoing violence in four states and now live under siege in El Fasher, North Darfur.
Through your generosity, DWN’s two courageous local teams have kept two community kitchens running inside the besieged city. These kitchens are not just distributing meals—they are saving lives. Families who had resorted to eating umbaz, a non-nutritive substance, are now receiving real food. Your support turned despair into survival.
Current Humanitarian Situation in El Fasher
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have besieged El Fasher for over 500 days, trapping hundreds of thousands of civilians with little or no access to food, medicine, or essential supplies. The situation has now escalated to famine conditions and a catastrophic humanitarian emergency.
Human Rights Violations & International Concerns
The humanitarian crisis is compounded by systematic violence against civilians:
