I am writing to you on behalf of Kakuma women sewing group, a grassroot initiative committed to empowering refugee women in Kakuma refugee camp through skill-building and economic opportunities. Our organization has been working closely with the community in Kakuma and we have identified a critical need for repairing and servicing machines used by refugee women to sustain their livelihoods.
As you may know, Kakuma refuge camp is home to thousand of displaced individual, many of whom are women and children. These women often rely on sewing as a means of generating income to support their families in the camp. However, due to the harsh conditions and limited resources, the sewing machines they use are prone to frequent breakdowns and malfunctions.
Without functioning sewing machines, these women are unable to produce goods for sale, thereby jeopardizing their financial stability and independence, Additionally the lack of access to repair services further exacerbates their challenges, as they are unable to afford the cost associated with repairing of replacing their equipment.
To address this pressing issue, we are launching a campaign to raise funds for repairing and servicing sewing machines in Kakuma refugee camp. Our goal is to ensure that every woman who relies on sewing as a source of income has access to reliable and well-maintained equipment. By proving timely repairs and maintenance services, we aim to empower these women to continue supporting themselves and their families with dignity and resilience.
We believe that investing in the repair and servicing of sewing machines is a sustainable and impactful way to support refugee women in Kakuma. Not only does it enable them to earn a livelihood, but it also fosters a sense of agency and self-reliance within the refugee community. With your support, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of these resilient women and help them build a better future for themselves and their families
We kindly request your assistance in this endeavor, whether through financial contributions, donations of sewing machine parts and tools, or by spreading awareness about our campaign within your network. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference in the live of refugee women in Kakuma.
Thank you for considering our appeal for support. If you have any question or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us. Together, we can make a positive impact and create lasting change for refugee women.
