Women Vegetable Farms

By Azeem Christopher | Project Leader

"My name is Razia, and I live in a small village near Faisalabad. Life was very difficult for me and my family. I wanted to support my husband, but we had no resources. Then, I received a small loan from AWARD Pakistan, and everything changed. With that money, I started vegetable farming on a small piece of land. I planted okra, spinach, coriander, and seasonal vegetables like carrots and turnips. It was hard work, but I was determined. Within a few months, I began selling my vegetables in the local market. People appreciated the freshness of my produce.

Now, I earn enough to send my children to school and help my husband with household expenses. I feel proud and independent. AWARD not only gave me a loan but also gave me hope and confidence. Today, I am not just a farmer—I am a successful businesswoman in my village".
