Hello and welcome to the latest from The Cabin!
Landscaping remains our main priority and has progressed slowly but steadily. The winter months are crucial for tree planting and weather and time limit what we can achieve at this time of year. Despite this, the fantastic team of volunteers at Andover Trees United have added safety handrails to the steps and a bench to the front to catch the winter sun, whilst the ground either side of the boardwalk was dug over and raked before the onset of the coldest months, giving frosts the opportunity to further break down the soil before wildflower and grass seed is sown in March.
The storage area to the side of the Cabin has seen improvements with a small shed to house outdoor learning equipment and the beginnings of a pathway, perfect for wheeling barrows in and out. By Easter, we will have added another row of slabs - thereby completing the hard landscaping - sown wildflower seed and planted up the raised bed.
There remain 3 main projects in need of funding:
With your ongoing support, we hope to raise the last of the funds needed to complete these final stages this year. As ever, we can't thank you enough for your generous donations. With so many different cause and ways to spend your money, we are honoured that you have selected this project for your support. Thank you for being part of the team.
