Baby Brillian was born last week and then her Proud Mom graduated on the following Friday. For two weeks mother and baby will stay in our emergency accommodation while mom adjusts to motherhood. During this time Mama Brillian will be assisted in care of her newborn. The mothers on our team are there to assist her before she moves back to her own home with Baby Brillian. Yesterday a mango tree was planted by Mama Brillian to mark the birth. Brillian is the tenth baby to be born to Proud Moms that we work with. We pray that Brillian will have a bright and brilliant future!
As always our graduation days are colourful and funfilled (though it ended in heavy rain!). Last Friday was our 9th Graduation. Of the 10 graduands eight were present - 5 young men and 3 young women. These are now moving on to the next phase of the WOW programme as they begin apprenticeships in carpentry, mechanics and catering. The photos included here catch some of the aspects of the graduation day.
None of what we do is possible without those who support us. We are very grateful to the wellwishers who believe in what we do. On behalf of the young people we work with Thank You - Asanteni!
