A huge thank you for your donation to World Cancer Day and the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC)!
Every year on 4 February, we rally the global cancer community to raise awareness about cancer, from prevention to early detection, treatment and care to save millions of lives. Hundreds of thousands get involved across countries and communities, online and in person. We see walks, talks, panel events, petitions to governments, and so much more. Donation help us drive this global movement.
We also use the donations to enable organisations with limited resources, primarily from low-and middle-income countries to participate in UICC’s divers range of programmes and learning opportunities, through the Membership Support Fund.
Benavides Cancer Institute, Philippines, the Venezuelan Breast Cancer Research and Education Foundation and the Zambian Cancer Society are among the organisations that recently benefitted from the Membership Support Fund. This allowed them to join virtual dialogues, online courses, and Masterclass sessions.
Finally, donations help us provide tailored support to patient-driven organisations through UICC’s Patient Group Mentoring Programme (PGMP). In 2024, a total of 32 organisations from the Asia-Pacific, Eastern Mediterranean and Africa regions were supported through this programme. Throughout the year, UICC coordinated knowledge sharing opportunities and facilitated connections to strengthen the voice of cancer patients.
A big thank you once again for your support. We truly appreciate it.
We would love to stay in touch. Please sign up for the World Cancer Day or the UICC newsletter, or email hello@worldcancerday.org for any information.
With very best wishes,
The UICC and World Cancer Day team
