Virtual group meeting

Dear donor,

Grupo Nós is a program that  facilitates the transition process of adolescents in foster care and in shelters to an adult life,  for life outside the institution,  increasing their sense of belonging to the community.

The grupo nÓs offers support for questions and challenges that merge in this stage of life, through an individual weekly follow-ups, opportunities to participate in thematic groups and cultural expeditions in the city. It contributes to their life projects, specially the professional and housing ones. We know that the adolescents need this net of support and caring and we are very enthusiastic about the results of this three-year program.

There is a website buit just to support the adolescents with a lot of information under:

JOBS,HOUSING,MANAGING MONEY, CITZENSHIP

In the past three months, Grupo Nós served 33 young people through biweekly groups, 23 young people through biweekly individual monitoring, 20 young people through weekly consultancy and support shifts.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the program continues to work essentially promoting activities through platforms that allow meetings and meetings to be held distance. Young people were provided with the necessary conditions to participate in virtual meetings (internet when necessary, for example).

In this group we met R.

R. is a a young woman accompanied on the shifts of Grupo Nós. She recently discovered that she is pregnant and through Grupo Nós, she had individualized support with affective conversations about this important moment in her life. R. also received guidance on how to take care of prenatal care and to learn about the benefits she is entitled to as a pregnant woman.

Thank you for those new opportunities to the youngs!
