Dear donor,
How are you?
Today, we would like to share an interesting story about one of the young participant in the "Grupo Nos" program, which leads us to believe that we are on the right track an fill us with joy. We hope you feel the same way.
The grupo nÓs facilitates the transition process of adolescents in foster care and in shelters to an adult life increasing their sense of belonging to the community.
When they turn 18 and must leave the shelter where they live, they face a new challenge. We work closely with each young adult in our group, through individual weekly follow-ups, opportunities to participate in thematic groups and cultural expeditions in the city. It contributes to their life projects, specially the professional and housing ones. We know that the adolescents need this net of support and caring and we are very enthusiastic about the results of this program
C. is 17 years old and loves to talk and hang out with her friends. He likes soccer and supports Corinthians. He has already worked as a Young Apprentice at the Court of Justice and now works at a haberdashery. He plans to go to law school or to study Physical Education and to work doing what he likes. His biggest dream is to have his own house after leaving foster care.
In the last three months, the program has assisted 46 young people through bi-weekly group meetings, 24 young people through individual accompaniment, and an average of 5 young people a week through the on-call strategy.
