Inclusion and Cultural Access

Ancestral future and protective measures

Dear Donors,

We hope this message finds you well. We’d like to share with you the activities from this important project, which is part of the larger Grupo Nós program, during the third quarter of 2024. Currently, we are supporting 74 young people, all engaged in the broader Grupo Nós initiative that promotes inclusion, cultural access, and the strengthening of their rights.

Funkeiros Cults Exhibit – Museum of the Favelas
This quarter, the young people participating in this project took part in the “Funkeiros Cults” exhibit at the Museum of the Favelas. The exhibit features work by the Funkeiros Cults Collective, which started in the Compensa neighborhood of urban Amazonas. It explores topics like the impact of access to books in favelas and how funk music influences the self-esteem of young people. This cultural outing helped foster important discussions on ancestry and the right to the city. You can learn more about the exhibit here: Museum of the Favelas - Funkeiros Cults.

III Partner Services Meeting
In August, we held our third Partner Services Meeting. This event included a guided visit to the exhibit "Um Defeito de Cor" at SESC Pinheiros. Professionals from youth shelters, group homes, and inclusive residences experienced the kind of cultural outings we organize for the young people of Grupo nÓs. They reflected on the theme of "ancestral future and protective measures" in the context of Brazilian history.

Music Production Course
As a continuation of our Cultural Entrepreneurship course, we launched the second module at Casa PretaHub. The first class in music production was a big hit, covering essential strategies for crafting poetry and music. These sessions give young people the tools they need to tell their own stories through art.

+ Education Program
This quarter also saw an important session where we focused on the System of Rights Guarantees and the Public Policies that shape the lives of these young people. They reflected on their rights and responsibilities. Additionally, we began a new project: "How to Create a Project?" Youth were encouraged to think about their experiences and develop ideas that could be transformed into projects. We will have two more sessions for them to develop these ideas, and in November, we’ll host a special event where they’ll present their projects in various formats—text, video, documentary, or manifesto.

McDia Feliz Donation
We’re also thrilled to report that the teens received vouchers for Big Macs through the McDia Feliz donation! They had a great time organizing a group outing to enjoy the meal together.

Preparations for the III Career Fair
We’re gearing up for our III Career Fair, set for September 28, 2024. This event will offer our young people a unique opportunity to explore their career aspirations and network with professionals from various fields.

We are incredibly grateful for your continued support. None of this would be possible without your generosity. Together, we are helping to transform the lives of these 74 young people, opening doors to a more equitable and inclusive future.

With sincere gratitude,

Instituto Fazendo Historia Team
