Help sheltered adolescents to live a worthy life

Thanks to your incredible support, we’re delighted to share the latest updates from the Help Sheltered Adolescents to Live a Worthy Life project, a vital part of the Grupo Nós program. Today, this initiative empowers 74 adolescents living in shelters by providing them with meaningful opportunities to learn, grow, and build brighter futures.

Empowering Career Dreams: III Career Fair

In September, the third edition of the Grupo Nós Career Fair opened doors to possibilities for our participants. With over 40 volunteer professionals from diverse fields, adolescents gained invaluable insights into career pathways. They connected with companies offering job opportunities and participated in an inspiring discussion with a musician and a social scientist, who shared their stories of resilience and success.

One of our participants shared: "Meeting professionals who believed in my potential made me realize I have the power to shape my future."

Unlocking Opportunities: EXPO CIEE 2024

Later that month, the adolescents attended EXPO CIEE 2024, where they explored a world of educational and job opportunities. They gained practical knowledge about São Paulo’s job market, especially through apprenticeship programs that can bridge the gap between their dreams and reality.

Sparking Creativity: Design and Creativity

In October, a group of participants visited QNCO Design for a hands-on exploration of the creative industry. They experienced the magic of design processes and left inspired to think outside the box about their future careers.

Building Confidence and Vision: + Education

The + Educação initiative, integrated into the Help Sheltered Adolescents to Live a Worthy Life project, provides academic support in math and Portuguese, combined with life skills development, empowering adolescents to reflect on their experiences and aspirations.

In the last quarter of 2024, participants engaged in thematic sessions designed to inspire deep reflection and forward-thinking. One pivotal session focused on the Rights Guarantee System and the Public Policies shaping their lives. Together, we explored their rights, responsibilities, and the systems that impact them daily, equipping them with knowledge and confidence to navigate their realities.

Building on this foundation, we guided the adolescents through a journey of self-discovery during a session dedicated to their Life Projects. They were encouraged to reflect on their past, understand their present, and envision their future. Over two additional sessions, they developed and refined these projects, which culminated in a powerful presentation in November. Using creative formats such as videos, podcasts, poetry, and music, the participants shared their visions and personal stories, showcasing their creativity, determination, and resilience.

The event was a vibrant moment of exchange and connection, with participants sharing ideas and supporting one another in a dynamic conversation circle. One participant expressed: "This process made me believe that my story matters and that my dreams are possible."

This initiative not only enhances academic and personal skills but also instills a sense of self-worth and possibility in every participant.

A Joyous Celebration: End-of-Year Event

To wrap up an impactful year, we celebrated with an adventurous day at SelvaSP in December. Adolescents connected with nature through activities like river tubing, zip-lining, and hiking, creating joyful memories and strengthening friendships.
