Dear donor,
We are pleased to share with you an update on the ongoing work of Grupo Nós, a program dedicated to supporting adolescents in vulnerable situations as they transition into adult life.
Grupo Nós In 2025, Grupo Nós reached an important milestone with the graduation of 18 young participants, who completed their journey in the program at the age of 19. This moment marked a significant step toward autonomy and the conclusion of an important phase in their personal and educational development.
Throughout the first semester of 2026, Grupo Nós continued to support its current participants, now aged 18, through individualized follow-up. This support focused on their transition out of residential care services, with an emphasis on strengthening autonomy, building life projects, and ensuring access to fundamental rights. The team carried out ongoing coordination with the social assistance network, particularly to facilitate access to social benefits and housing alternatives, according to each young person’s needs. At the same time, efforts were made to strengthen connections with the labor market, aiming to support their entry into productive activities and employment opportunities.
For the upcoming semester, we are in the process of establishing a partnership with a higher education institution in São Paulo to implement vocational guidance group sessions. These activities will be supported by volunteer university students and will contribute to the young participants’ career planning and professional decision-making. Grupo Nós Team Development. During this semester, the Grupo Nós team, including technical coordination, leadership, and the monitoring and evaluation department of Instituto Fazendo História, participated in a continuing education program focused on Life Project Development. The training was led by Marisa Baruch P. Abujamra, an educator at Instituto Colmeia and a specialist in this field. The program aimed to strengthen the team’s work through a combination of theoretical and practical reflections, structured around the key dimensions of a life project: social, personal, and professional. The sessions were designed to be dynamic and participatory, enhancing the team’s strategies for supporting young people. With a total of 21 hours, the training provided both theoretical and methodological tools that enriched professional practice. It contributed to more intentional support processes, strengthened active listening, and enabled the development of individualized strategies that respect each young person’s unique path and circumstances.
To close, we would like to share a message from one of the young participants: “An open letter to your work… Thank you for every emotion experienced in the group. You are incredible, bringing love and equality to young people. This is not just work, it is a commitment.” – J., former participant of Grupo Nós.
We sincerely thank you for your continued support and trust. Your partnership makes it possible to expand opportunities and build new paths for adolescents transitioning into adulthood with dignity, autonomy, and hope.
Warm regards,
Instituto Fazendo História Team
