                                                         2024 Annual Summary Report

On behalf of the Tanzania Rural Health Movement (TRHM), I want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous support over the past year. Your contribution has been instrumental in advancing our mission to improve healthcare access for underserved and rural communities in Mwanza, Tanzania.

Key Achievements in 2024:

1. Emergency Care and Prehospital Services:

   • In 2024, TRHM responded to 1,287 incidents, providing prehospital care to 1,931 individuals before they reached healthcare facilities. This life-saving service has proven essential in bridging the gap between emergency situations and definitive medical care.

2. Bisou Bailey Medical Dispensary:

   • The Bisou Bailey Medical Dispensary has made tremendous progress. We successfully opened an emergency room, equipped with critical tools such as an ultrasound machine, defibrillator, and essential emergency medications for basic resuscitation services.
   • Our antenatal services for pregnant women have grown significantly, from 0 in 2021 to 353 women accessing care in 2024.
   • Total visits at the dispensary have reached 19,120 since its inception, a reflection of the increasing trust and reliance on our services.

3. Street Medicine Project:

   • Our Street Medicine Project continues to provide healthcare and psychosocial support to vulnerable individuals, especially children and the elderly living on the streets. In 2024, we served 1,164 beneficiaries, providing medical care, meals, clothing, shoes, hygiene services, and reintegration assistance.
   • Since its launch, this project has helped over 26,164 individuals, making a lasting impact on the lives of those in dire need of support.

4. Strategic Plan & Technological Innovation:

   • Over the past five years, we successfully implemented our second strategic plan, enhancing operations and expanding our outreach to underserved rural communities.
   • We embraced three new technological innovations to improve service delivery and health outcomes, while also ensuring our operations are aligned with global healthcare priorities, including environmental sustainability.

5. Looking Forward:

   • As we conclude our second strategic plan (2018-2023), we are excited to launch our third strategic plan (2024-2030). This new strategy focuses on strengthening existing initiatives, expanding access to healthcare for rural populations, and responding to both local and international health priorities.
