We would like to take the opportunity to update our generous donors on our goat project. Currently, we have nine goats in total. We experienced some mortality among the newborn kids earlier on this month, which was challenging, but we continue to learn and strengthen our animal care practices.
At this time, the goats are mainly being raised for meat to support our children, as they do not produce sufficient milk for regular feeding. Encouragingly, four of the goats are currently pregnant, which gives us hope for growth and sustainability of the project. Looking ahead, we have a strong dream of acquiring dairy goats that can produce sufficient milk for the children. With the right resources and support, dairy goats would greatly improve the nutritional value of our feeding program and enhance the long-term impact of this initiative.
Our goats are contributing to improved food security for the children we serve, and we are deeply grateful for this.
