“Heart-to-Heart” podcasts

Epworth’s “Heart-to-Heart” podcast series, aimed at our parents, was launched by Epworth’s pastoral team in the second half of 2023. It provides our YOUNG WOMEN OF WORTH with an extended support system, offering guidance on a variety of topics and challenges facing modern parents. The pastoral team is an integral part of the school and takes care of our pupils’ emotional, social, and physical wellbeing. It works hand-in-hand with our high school pupil Wellness SW@T (supporting wellness at all times) team.

Well-known psychologist and speaker, Naomi Holdt, made a guest appearance, and shared tips and excerpts from her new book, Bounce: How to Raise Resilient Kids and Teens with the team.

Celebrating a partnership

YWOW engaged with the EPiC (Epworth in Community) Legacy Siyacula Festival to mark the closing of the 2023 partnership between Epworth’s Performing Arts department and music teachers from schools in the surrounding community. School teachers and their pupils spent a morning  in various performing arts activities, culminating in the choral festival concert . Supporting and nurturing others in our community was an enriching experience – an intrinsic Epworth moment!

This partnership was first initiated in 2022 by PSI Projects in collaboration with the Epworth Foundation. It centres around a teacher and choir development programme between Epworth’s Music department and several local, less-resourced schools. The focus is on sharing practical knowledge such as how to arrange choirs, how to conduct physical and vocal warmups and how to run auditions.

Outstanding IEB results for Epworth class of 2023

YWOW Matriculants are no exception as the Class of 2023 IEB results reflect exceptional hard work, perseverance, and a full recovery of Covid-related learning issues. We pay tribute to our staff who challenged and nurtured each one of our pupils.

  • Epworth achieved 100% pass rate with all 64 candidates receiving entry to university.
  • Eight pupils were ranked in the top 1% of subjects nationally
  • Our 64 pupils recorded a total of 137 distinctions

May they go forth with faith, compassion and courage.
