Summary

Support our initiative to provide Menstrual Health Education for girls from mostly secondary schools in age of 9 to 17 years old. In collaboration with REEpads Tanzania, we educate and distribute reusable sanitary pads to those students and interact in a group discussion on how to be good for yourself. We have educated over 300! girls already and hope to provide more in the future. The health kits are also still in our thoughts, but not in operation now.

Challenge

The primary objectives of the training are: To provide comprehensive education on menstrual hygiene management. To raise awareness about the importance of good hygiene practices during menstruation. To break down cultural taboos and misinformation surrounding menstruation. To distribute reusable sanitary pads (REEpads) as a sustainable solution to menstrual hygiene challenges. To empower girls to feel confident, safe, and supported during their menstrual cycles.

Solution

The session are designed to educate and empower adolescent girls with accurate information on menstrual health, sexual reproductive health awareness, break taboos surrounding menstruation and provide reusable sanitary pads to help reduce absenteeism among schoolgirls during their menstrual cycles.

Long-Term Impact

Our work will have a lasting impact on the lives of families in Tanzania. By promoting good health and hygiene practices, we're creating a foundation for healthier futures. With access to essential items and knowledge, families can thrive, break the cycle of poverty, and contribute positively to their communities for generations to come.
