We want to bring hope and healing to the estimated 60,000 girls and women that are working in the sex industry in Pattaya, Thailand. Tamar's heart is to provide the girls with an alternative to the often-devastating job as a bar girl (sex-worker). To achieve this goal of a new life, we deploy various activities to help every step of their way. While they are still in the bar, we reach out through bar outreach, banquet parties, pregnancy counseling, inexpensive beauty services, and English class. While working in one of our small businesses, they receive vocational training in handicrafts, sewing, jewelry making, beauty services (hair, nails, eyelashes), baking, cooking, serving, restaurant management, hospitality management, reception desk, and maid and laundry services. After training, women will go home, start a business, or get a job in their field.
