At the end of the year we want to share the joy of Christmas with all the different groups that we serve: Christmas Gifts for the Women and Children at Tamar, 500 small gift bags for the women working in the bars and a Christmas Party in the redlight district. In the last years the women were happy and surprised when we showed up with gifts for them and we want to do that again. Let's share the joy of Christmas together!
There are thousands of women working in the sex industry in Pattaya. Currently, many of them are struggling. There are currently more women in Pattaya than Tourists and the competition between the women is high. There is also a lot of pressure on the women to make money for their families and to help with the rising costs in the country side, especially after the bad flooding that Thailand experienced this year. Our goal is to bring them joy and hope during this Christmas season.
The gift bags that we distribute this year will be stockings filled with handmade products from our women, Christmas Cookies, Booklets and an invite to our Christmas Party! For the children at Tamar the gifts will be toys and practical items that the mothers will choose for them, so that it fits their needs and preferences. The women will receive gifts for themselves from us as well and the party will be a time of fellowship, games, music, gifts, food and a time to relax and enjoy together!
Our goal for the women is to leave Pattaya, maybe return to their families and to have a normal life outside of the sex industry. We will train the women job skills and help them to find employment or help them to start their own small business so that they can provide for themselves and their children. Also, when they return to their families, they will help to prevent other young girls and boys to start a work in the sex industry.
