This microproject helps to provide midday meal to homeless old age person for a year. Every day we provide nutritious food to 30 destitute elders, who are homeless, neglected by their families. Due to poverty some families are not able to feed these older persons. Among 30 poor old age persons, some of them use to begging at neighbor houses, near by locations to feed themselves. By seeing this since 2009, we are providing nutritious food to 30 destitute elders in Kurnool District of AP, India.
The homeless elderly persons are suffering with starvation, ill-health in our area. The age group of these older people is 58 to 80 years. Sometimes they used to beg on the streets for feed themselves. These older persons approached us to feed them with nutritious meals. Most of the elderly women are having anemic problem due to lack of food and medicines. Some of poor elderly persons are not having home and sleeps art neighbor houses and temple halls, verandas of community halls.
This microproject solves the problem by providing every day nutritious meals to one elderly person for a year. The meals includes Steamed Cooked Rice, Leafy Vegetables Dhal, Vegetable Curry, Sambhar, Rasam, Butter Milk, Chutney, etc. With this nutritious meals the health levels of Hungry destitute elderly persons have been increased. Older people are very happy for this support. Many times we provides clothing to the destitute elderly persons.
This program will stop the starvation among destitute elderly people in Kurnool District of Andhra Pradesh. The Budhavarapeta slum older people get timely nutritious food. Old age persons living conditions & life span will increase. 30 old age persons able to eat nutritious food in time with out depending on others. The perception of the community on caring old age people will built positively. Human rights violations against old age people will be reduced.
