Every Bucket of Water Takes Time

By Adaego Imoh | Project Leader

Every Bucket of Water Takes Time
Every Bucket of Water Takes Time

Dear Donors,

Thank you for supporting the people of Ogane.

For families with water close to home, collecting it may take only a few minutes.

For families without that access, one bucket can require a long walk and hours of waiting.

That time adds up.

A child who spends hours collecting water has less time for school.

A mother who spends much of the day searching for water has less time for work, childcare and rest.

And when the water available is unsafe, families face another worry: will the water make us sick?

About 5,000 people in the selected community of Ogane currently depend on distant and unsafe water sources.

This project will drill a borehole and install a solar-powered pump, storage tank and public taps so families can collect safe water closer to home.

The system will be tested for water safety, and community members will receive training to manage and maintain it.

The hope is simple: less time searching for water and more time living life.

More children in school.

More adults able to work.

More families protected from illnesses linked to unsafe water.

Thank you for helping bring this change to Ogane.

With gratitude,
Adaego Imoh
