Summary

This project will provide immediate relief and support to the Kiteezi residents in a Kampala surberb in Uganda affected by the garbage landslide on August 10. We aim to distribute essential supplies, including food, bedding, and temporary shelter (tents) to help these families begin to recover from this disaster.

Challenge

On August 10, 2024, a devastating garbage landslide struck the Kiteezi neighborhood in Kampala, Uganda, burying homes and tragically claiming the lives of several residents. As a result of this disaster, numerous families have been displaced, left without shelter, food, and the basic necessities for survival. The Kiteezi community, already vulnerable, is now in a dire state of emergency.

Solution

This emergency program will allow us to provide essential relief items to the Kiteezi residents in Kampala Uganda who are in desperate need after a devastating garbage struck their households. By pooling our resources, we can help restore dignity and hope to families facing an uncertain future.

Long-Term Impact

We have conducted an immediate assessment to identify the most affected families and their specific needs in collaboration with the area leadership. Next is Purchase and gather food supplies, bedding, and tents to distribute to affected families. We will Coordinate the distribution of aid to ensure it reaches those most in need swiftly and effectively. Will then Provide information on longer-term recovery resources to help families rebuild their lives
