Empower 15 Mothers in Haiti

A microproject by Jake's Network of Hope
Empower 15 Mothers in Haiti

Summary

Moms living in rural Haiti struggle to survive and provide for their children. With incomes of less than $1/day, devastatingly difficult choices are made. This includes choosing between food & diapers, a choice with devastating consequences. This microproject will provide Moms with a complete supply of cloth diapers, to last from birth to potty training. All babies deserve to be clean, dry, and healthy.

Challenge

All babies deserve clean diapers. This project will provide 100% diaper coverage, which not only provides an increase in comfort but improvement in basic health and sanitation for both baby and mother.

Solution

Diapers will improve sanitation, hygiene and health through containment of feces. That's not all. Imagine the impact on for caregivers! No more wet laps. No more cleaning up feces off the floor. Less laundry! (less sheets to wash!).

Long-Term Impact

As our partner organizations in Haiti continue to have their diaper needs solved, they are able to save funds and plan for future improvements in their care. This can mean adding educational programs, offering better healthcare, improved quality of food (more protein!) - all steps that set these babies up for long term survival and productive members of society.
