Improved Access to Employment Opportunities

By Seguya Ivan | Project leader

Computer literacy significantly increases the ability of young mothers to search for, apply for, and compete for employment opportunities. Through our computer studies, young mothers learn how to prepare professional documents, create and edit CVs, write application letters, communicate through email, search for opportunities online, and complete digital application forms.

For many young mothers, these are skills that can make the difference between seeing an opportunity and being able to pursue it. Without digital knowledge, online job advertisements, application portals, and digital communication systems can become barriers. Our training helps remove these barriers by giving participants the confidence and practical skills required to navigate today's employment environment.

The program also introduces young mothers to responsible internet use and online information searching. Participants learn how to identify relevant opportunities, access educational resources, and communicate professionally with potential employers and organizations. These skills expand their horizons beyond their immediate communities and connect them with opportunities that may previously have seemed inaccessible.

The impact extends to their children. When a young mother gains employment or develops a sustainable income, she is better positioned to provide food, education, healthcare, clothing, and other essential needs for her family. In this way, computer training becomes more than an educational intervention—it becomes a pathway toward family stability.

Donor investment enables us to provide young mothers with access to computers, practical training, mentorship, and supportive learning environments. Every participant who gains digital confidence represents a step toward breaking cycles of poverty and exclusion.

By supporting this initiative, donors are helping young mothers acquire skills that remain valuable in an increasingly digital economy. We are creating opportunities for women to participate, compete, earn, and build more secure futures for themselves and their children.
