20 Computers, Many Futures: Creating Opportunities Through Digital Skills

By Ivan Seguya | Project leader

A single computer can introduce a child to a world they may never have experienced before. Multiply that opportunity across a fully equipped hub of 20 computers, and the potential for community learning becomes significant.

F SSIBU Mission Foundation is working to establish a practical digital learning environment where children, school dropouts, girls, boys, and vulnerable youth can develop computer skills that complement their education and prepare them for changing opportunities.

The program is designed around hands-on learning. Instead of technology remaining something young people only hear about, learners will have opportunities to sit at a computer, practice essential skills, complete digital learning activities, conduct research, and develop confidence using technology responsibly.

For children still in school, computer access can strengthen their learning experience. For school dropouts and vulnerable youth, digital training can provide another pathway for learning and personal development. For girls and young mothers, it can create opportunities to acquire skills that may support future education, entrepreneurship, or employment pathways.

To make this possible, the hub needs more than computers. Donor support can contribute toward furniture, electricity and power equipment, internet connectivity, tutors, software, learning resources, and ongoing maintenance.

This is an investment in access, confidence, and possibility.

By helping us equip 20 computers, donors can help create a learning space where many young people gain practical skills and begin preparing themselves for a more digitally connected future.
