Building a Community Where Every Child Can Access Technology

By Ivan Seguya | Project leader

A child’s opportunity to learn should not depend entirely on whether their family can afford a computer. In many underserved communities, technology remains difficult to access, leaving children with fewer opportunities to develop digital skills.

Through the Equip 20 Computers Program, F SSIBU Mission Foundation is working to establish a shared digital learning hub that can bring computers closer to the children and young people we serve.

The planned hub will provide opportunities for pupils, school dropouts, girls, boys, and vulnerable young people to learn computer skills in a supportive environment. Instead of technology remaining something children only hear about or see elsewhere, they will have an opportunity to interact with computers, practice skills, and explore educational resources.

This initiative is also about building a stronger community learning environment. With trained tutors, appropriate furniture, reliable electricity, internet connectivity, software, and learning materials, the hub can become a space where young people develop skills together and encourage one another.

Our donors can help make this vision possible. Contributions toward computers and the supporting infrastructure will directly strengthen our ability to provide practical digital learning opportunities to children who might otherwise remain excluded.

We are not simply seeking to place 20 computers in a room. We are seeking to build a bridge between children in underserved communities and the knowledge, skills, and opportunities of the digital world. Your partnership can help us build that bridge.
