Equipping Children With the Digital Skills for Tomorrow

By Ivan Seguya | Project leader

The world of education and work is changing rapidly, and digital skills are becoming increasingly important. Yet many children in underserved communities still have little or no opportunity to learn using computers. Through the Equip 20 Computers Program, F SSIBU Mission Foundation is working to help bridge this gap.

Our vision is to establish a 20-computer digital learning hub that will give children and young people practical opportunities to interact with technology. The program will support pupils, school dropouts, girls, boys, and vulnerable young people who need access to digital learning resources.

We believe that children should not be limited by the circumstances into which they were born. With access to a computer and appropriate guidance, a learner can research information, practice typing, prepare documents, explore educational resources, communicate digitally, and begin developing skills relevant to future opportunities.

The hub will require more than computers. We are also seeking support for desks and chairs, electricity, internet connectivity, tutors, learning materials, software, and ongoing maintenance. Each of these elements contributes to creating a safe and functional learning environment.

For our donors, supporting this initiative means helping create access where there is currently a significant gap. It means giving children an opportunity to learn, practice, and build confidence with technology.

Your support can help equip a child not only with a computer, but with skills that can continue serving them throughout their education and future journey.
