On August 10th, we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Julio Otoni Favela Community Center. For two decades, this center has been a home and safe space for generations of children in Santo Antonio. To mark this milestone, we're planning a one-day event with an art workshop led by an artist, where children and their parents will come together to beautify the center.
The reality in Rio's favelas is harsh, with many families facing poverty, crime, and limited access to education and healthcare. Community centers like ours offer vital refuge, providing safe spaces and positive activities for children. This event is essential for the 54 children we serve, giving them a sense of ownership and pride in their community center. By participating, they will see their contributions reflected in their environment, reinforcing their value and support.
Our goal is to raise $2,000 by September to cover the cost of this event. Your donation will directly support maintenance work, hiring the artist, getting materials, and providing snacks.
Donation options:
100$ provide art supplies for 10 children
100$ Support in Mainitance and Miscellaneous
150$ snacks for 25 children
200$ fund a portion of the artist fees
Thank you for being part of our journey of empowering the children of Julio Otoni for the past 20 years. Please share this with your friends and family.
