We thank you from the core of our heart for your valuable support through GlobalGiving.

Heavy rains in the western Rajasthan rose the threat of flood. Desert Dhorimanna Block is one of the major regions were affected by the flood where the loss of live and property was the most. A large mass of land has been submerged under water due to the flood where villages were found. Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan, with the support of GlobalGiving Foundation and the donors had done relief work to compensate the loss of live and property up to some extent. The organization had done the relief works under several phases which made it easy for the organization to provide relief to the victims. The phases of the relif work are in details as follows:-

Phase I:- The flood submerged a huge land mass which put the victim families under the crisis to meet their basic needs as food, shelter and medical facilities. Therefore, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan, with the support of GlobalGiving Foundation, distributed 27 kg Ration kit to the victim families so that they may get their meal. The ration included flour, pulses, rice, spices, oil, soap, vegetables, wheat, etc. and it was distributed to more than 250 victim families in the phase of relief work and the organization managed proper shelter and fresh drinking water for the victim families.

Phase II:- Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan faced so many problems in this phase as lack of knowledge of regional language, finding address of the victim families lack of proper roads made it difficult to find the residences of victims families. The organization took help of a local NGO to resolve its problems and completed the survey of flood-affected region. On the basis of survey report, 400 victim families were selected and the organization distributed blankets to them so that they may protect themselves from cold and have sound sleep.

Phase III:- The stagnated water in the flood-affected regions provides favourable environment to mosquitoes for growth which increases the threat of spreading several mosquito prone diseases as malaria, dengue, etc. Considering the possiblity of spreading diseases, the organization distributed mosquito nets to the victim families nearby such stagnated water surroundings. Before distributing the mosquito nets, the organization had a survey and selected 200 victim families based on the survey report. The mosquito nets will certainly help the victims to keep themselves secured from mosquitoes so that may not get affected from any disease.

Phase IV:- The flood destroyed the residences of some of the villagers also ruined agricultural activities and cattles were flown away in the flood. People got homeless and lost their livelihood and jobs. The stagnated water in the fields made it impossible to do agricultural activities. Considering all these problems, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan proposed the Phase IV of relief work. In this phase, we will build pucca houses for 10 victim families and Goat couple will be given to 15 families so that they may start their livelihood at initial level. The proposal of the relief work of Phase IV has been approved and survey has also been completed. Now, construction of pucca houses for 10 victim families has been started.

Phase V:- Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan advocated compensation for the victim families to the state government. The government accepted our request and allotted compensatory help to 50 victim families. In this manner, some victim families had got financial aid for which they thanked Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan and GlobalGiving Foundation.

Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan, with the support of GlobalGiving Foundation and the donors, organized relief work on a large scale in which the organization has been successful so far. The flood-victim families thanked Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan.

We have been getting your valuable generous support through GlobalGiving and we are thankful to you from the core of our heart.

Due to heavy preipitation in western Rajasthan, flood situation has been there in Barmer and other regions nearby which has ruined the normal life. The fields and houses have been submerged overnight. The cattle feeders and peasants have lost their cattle in the flood which brought them a huge loss of life and property. The victims of the flood are scared, once they have their residences now the entire region have been submerged which brought them to trauma. After the flood, they are facing with the problems to arrange food and water.

Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan, with the financial support of GlobalGiving Foundation, provided relief to the flood victims. In the second phase of relief campaign RSKS organized five days relief camp in the rural region of Dheremanna Barmer in which we distributed food items like flour, Dry grains, edible oil, spices etc in the form of relief packets to more than Two Hundred flood victim family.. In order to protect peoples from severe diseases like dengue, malaria mosquito nets were also distributed.

Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan had a survey of the flood affected regions in western Rajasthan which includes the brief description of the compensation of the victims, and on the basis of the survey report we are provided relief to the victim families in the proposed campaign..

On the basis of the relief camp organised in the second phase by Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan and the survey report, we will provide relief to some selected victim families. In the third face of campaign that will held in last week of October we will distribute warm blankets to 500 flood affected families to protect from winter.

In order to rehabitate the victims, Huts or cottages will be built for the victim families whose residences have been ruined in the flood, which will get them shelter. Most of the families have lost their occupation and livelihood as their fields have been submerged. The local residents mainly rely on agriculture for their livelihood, but now they have become unemployed, moreover they have lost their livestock also. We will provide goat and cow to them with the support of GlobalGiving Foundation which will help them to start their livelihood again. The organisation has appointed an executive in the flood affected region who helps the victims to get the relief and compensation provided by the Government. The executive assures that the victims should get relief and compensation from the government without any problems.

Our activist had a conversation with BhikARam, one of the flood victims. He is a farmer and also had livestock. He had lost everything in the destruction of the flood. He lost his yield and all livestock, and his house was ruined. Now he has to live under the sky. BhikaRam and his family got some sort of relief by getting relief stuffs from Rajastahan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan with the support of GlobalGiving Foundation. Now his family and he have meal for the day. In the second phase of relief campaign, we will make him a shack and give him a goat and cow for his livelihood which will help him to feed his family.
