After the ravages of Covid, this academic year started with a flurry of activities at OBLF. We now have 60+ rural ladies as our para-teachers, and their continued growth is our priority. We held our first Teachers Conference of the year at One Billion Literates Foundation and it has been a lesson in humility, grit, and perseverance.
It is no secret that our in-house teachers are the champions of our organization, and the conference was an opportunity to connect, re-connect and celebrate them for all the hard work they put in even in times of adversity!
It was also the time to find their voice, find the power to adapt to ever-growing changes, encourage and take inspiration from each other to make a difference, and understand the impact they make on the children they work with every day.
Our guest speaker, highlighted the importance of being in a constant state of learning, unlearning, and relearning which is a necessity for our teachers in these changing times. We were also aided by 5 student leaders from Teach For India who laid out a powerful narrative about the roles their teachers played in their journey, giving our teachers an opportunity to learn from them.
