Thousands of children living in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in Nigeria face Christmas without food, gifts, or joy. Displacement caused by conflict and insecurity has stripped them of safety, stability, and childhood happiness. This project will bring hope by providing Christmas meals, gifts, hygiene kits, and psychosocial activities to vulnerable children, reminding them that they are loved, valued, and not forgotten.
For children in IDP camps, Christmas often arrives as just another difficult day. Many have lost their homes, access to education, and in some cases, their parents or caregivers. They lack nutritious food, clean clothing, basic hygiene supplies, and emotional support. Without intervention, these children are at risk of long-term trauma, neglect, and loss of hope during a season meant for joy and togetherness.
This project will organize a safe and dignified Christmas celebration in selected IDP camps by providing nutritious Christmas meals, Christmas gift packs (toys, clothing, and learning materials), hygiene kits to promote health and dignity, recreational and psychosocial activities such as games, music, and storytelling. The celebration will create a warm, child-friendly environment where children can experience happiness, healing, and a sense of belonging.
A single day of love and care can have a lasting impact on a child's emotional well-being. For displaced children, being celebrated helps restore confidence, reduce trauma, and rebuild trust in humanity. This project is not just about Christmas, it is about restoring dignity and hope.
