THIS MORNING our team in Nepal rescued two young boys from a restaurant in Kathmandu. They received a tip off from a local policewoman. We found them both working in the kitchen of a restaurant in Lalitpur district.
Heartbreakingly the boys are just ten and eleven years old. Initially they were taken to the police station but now they are in our safe house. At the moment they are very scared, so we are reassuring them that they are safe and not in any trouble. They have only been working at the restaurant for two months so we are hoping that, with our support, they will be able to return home to their families in due course.
The boys let us know of other children they know working in the area so we are making further investigations. It is possible that we will undertake a further rescue within the next few days.
Thank you for your ongoing support that enables us to continue our difficult work. Your donations have made this possible.
