Working to ensure that orphaned and vulnerable children within Isinya sub-county and in institutional care are placed back within a family through alternative care mechanisms like Reintegration with the family of origin, Kinship care, Guardianship, Foster care, Adoption and Supported independent living.
The number of children living in institutions has greatly increased in Kenya. According to documented research, 8 million children across the world live in orphanages and yet 80% of them have family. Similar research has found this to be true in Kenya too. Care reforms have begun and we are happy to be part of the solution towards the deinstitutionalization of children by transitioning children into family-based care. We believe that every child deserves to be raised within a family set up!
Establishing alternative care mechanisms through placement with family of origin, kinship care, guardianship, foster care, supported independent living and adoption. This will assist to reduce the number of children in institutions and finding a safe, stable and self-sustaining home for every child.
