In these first three months of 2026, we continued to provide Special Food Baskets to children with phenylketonuria, even in the context of limited financial resources: due to funding constraints, the number of children receiving monthly baskets was reduced from 115 in 2025 to 51 in 2026. Still, your support was able to ensure that critical nutritional support reached children who needed the most.
Over the past three months, the project received approximately $1,000 from your donations and GlobalGiving's matching funds, which directly helped 5 children receive a total of 17 Special Food Baskets, which contain essential low-protein foods that allow children with phenylketonuria develop safely.
One of these children is Bento, a young boy who eagerly awaits his Special Food Basket every month. He joyfully talks about it with his family, friends, teachers and neighbors. When visiting Divina Dieta, he struggles to choose just a few items, as he loves every option available! For his parents, these baskets mean peace of mind, knowing that their son has access to safe and nourishing food.
We are deeply grateful for your support! Every single contribution makes a tangible difference on the lives of these children, and allows us to continue delivering life-saving nutrition. If you would like to amplify your impact, please consider sharing our campaign with your network, as each dollar helps children like Bento!
Thank you,
Carol Ferrão/ Instituto Jô Clemente
