INTRODUCTION
As the year 2026 progresses, Tabitha Home continues to build on its commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through impactful and child-centered interventions. In March, the organization sustained its efforts in supporting residential and non-residential beneficiaries, as well as individuals in underserved communities.
With a strong focus on Child Development, Social Integration, and Sustainable Entrepreneurship, Tabitha Home provided holistic care across key areas including nutrition, shelter, education, and psychosocial support. The month also reflected meaningful progress in capacity building, child integration, and educational advancement, made possible through the continued support of partners and donors.
HIGHLIGHTS FOR MARCH 2026
OVERVIEW
CHILD PROTECTION
Tabitha Home provided a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for 62 children, ensuring compliance with Child Rights Laws, safeguarding policies, and health and safety regulations. Security was maintained 24/7 in collaboration with community personnel.
NUTRITIONAL SUPPORT
Children received three balanced and nutritious meals daily, supplemented with snacks, fruits, and vitamins to support their growth and overall wellbeing.
EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT
Academic activities resumed fully during the month, with children returning to their respective schools after thE mid-term break. By the end of March, many had commenced their end-of-term examinations, with some concluding while others are expected to finish in the first week of April.
To further support academic performance, home lessons were intensified, particularly in subjects where children required additional support.
Five children who gained university admission resumed physical lectures during the month and successfully participated in their matriculation ceremonies.
MEDICAL SUPPORT
The children’s health remained stable throughout the month, with no recorded emergencies or hospital visits. Routine health monitoring continued, and there were no significant changes in their overall health status.
PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT
A structured family meeting was held between the university students and younger children to strengthen relationships, encourage mentorship, and address any underlying misunderstandings.
Additionally, three new children (one male and two females) were admitted into the Home during the second week of March. A psychotherapist conducted initial assessments to evaluate their needs, and they are gradually adjusting to their new environment.
SKILL ACQUISITION
Tabitha Home partnered with the MoneySprouters initiative to organize a three-day skill acquisition training for the children. The training covered food production (chin chin and meat pie), crafts (knitting and bracelet-making), as well as financial literacy and basic entrepreneurship skills. This initiative aimed to equip the children with practical and income-generating skills.
COOPERATIVE WOMEN GROUP
The women’s cooperative held its monthly meeting on March 24th, with eight members in attendance. Discussions focused on developing a sustainable group business model to increase income. The group agreed to begin purchasing food items in bulk for resale among members.
They also scheduled their Annual General Meeting (AGM) for August 2026.
CONCLUSION
The month of March reflects Tabitha Home’s continued commitment to holistic child development and overall wellbeing. Activities such as the educational progress across all levels, psychosocial engagement, and participation in skill acquisition initiatives highlight the organization’s intentional approach to nurturing confident, resilient, and empowered children.
As the year unfolds, Tabitha Home remains focused on strengthening its core programs, enhancing learning outcomes, and expanding opportunities for both children and community members. With the ongoing support of partners and donors, the organization is well-positioned to sustain its impact and drive meaningful change in the lives of vulnerable children throughout 2026 and beyond.
