Project Report | Jul 6, 2026
Bezpieczny dom i sprawiedliwosc dla zwierzat w Polsce07.26

By Dawid Karkocha | President of the Vet-Alert Foundation

Over the past few months, the Vet-Alert Foundation has continued working toward lasting, systemic change for animals in Poland. Thanks to your ongoing support, we have been able to advance our legal advocacy, strengthen partnerships, educate animal guardians, and continue building a safe place for animals in need.

1. Continuing the Fight for Charitable Veterinary Care

Our legal efforts to secure the right to provide charitable veterinary care remain one of our highest priorities. We continue to fight for a future in which animals are not denied medical treatment simply because their guardians cannot afford commercial veterinary services.

This work is about much more than our organization—it is about creating lasting legal change that will allow charitable veterinary care to become accessible to animals across Poland.

2. A New Partner Supporting Our Mission

We are pleased to share that we have gained another ally in our efforts. The Pro Futuris Association has joined us in supporting the idea of charitable veterinary care and broader improvements to animal welfare legislation.

Building partnerships with organizations that share our vision strengthens our voice and brings us closer to meaningful legislative change.

3. Educating Animal Guardians About Veterinary Medicines

Education remains an important part of our mission. During this reporting period, we continued informing animal guardians about the safe and responsible use of veterinary medicines, helping them better understand potential adverse reactions, the importance of reporting side effects, and making informed decisions together with their veterinarians.

By increasing public awareness, we hope to improve both animal safety and the quality of veterinary care.

4. National Petition Submitted to the Polish Parliament

One of our biggest achievements this quarter was submitting our national petition to the Polish Parliament (Sejm), supported by more than 25,000 signatures.

The petition calls for extending the mandatory rabies vaccination interval for dogs from one year to three years, in line with current scientific evidence and international veterinary recommendations. We believe that modern, evidence-based legislation will benefit both animals and their guardians while maintaining effective rabies prevention.

5. Renovating Our Future Animal Care Center

Work on our future headquarters continues. Every improvement brings us closer to creating a safe place where abused, neglected, and vulnerable animals will receive protection, veterinary care, and a chance to recover.

Although renovations take time, each completed stage is an investment in a long-term resource that will serve animals for many years to come.

Thank You

None of this progress would be possible without your generosity. Your support allows us to continue advocating for systemic change, educating the public, building new partnerships, and preparing a safe home for animals who need it most.

Thank you for believing in our mission and for standing with Vet-Alert. Together, we are creating a better future for animals in Poland.
