If we can dream it, we can achieve it

By Isabel Lozano Maurer | If we can dream it, we can achieve it

As they say dreams come true, this dream that began with Adriana Aguerrebere, today is the dream of many women, women artisans of Los Altos de Chiapas, the NGOimpacto team and more people who have decided to join and put their hands to work.

In these months we have been working (with all the precautionary measures) together with the women artisans of Los Altos de Chiapas in the development of a guide to work in governance with the objective that the groups that own this social enterprise can generate their own forms, agreements and work roles within their cooperatives so that later they can be legally formalized.

In addition, we worked on the development of  pieces for Juxta Nation with the groups of: "Flores de Chacté" from the community of  Tsajalch'en in the municipality of  San Juan Cancuc, "Choy Spolabil" in the community  of Choyó in the municipality  of Santiago El Pinar, "Flor de Granadilla" in the community of  Bashantik, in the municiplaity of San Andres Larrainzar and  "Puntos Cardinales" in the community of  Aldama in the municipality of Aldama. They are  the partners, owners of this space. We hope that over time more women artisans can join this dream, the dream of Juxta Nation.

The members and co-proprietors of this social enterprise collectively created their symbol, an image that represents them as a group of artisans and that will accompany the pieces that each one of them elaborates.

We are working on our ecommerce platform, we hope it will be ready in a few weeks. This space excites us very much because it is for us the result of 8 years of walking, we made a photo campaign with the aim of having images for our website and social networks, in this campaign some colleagues of the cooperatives wanted to participate as models, it was a very nice experience to observe the companions, safe and enjoying the photo shoot.

Although the road is long and there are still things to do, we are sure that in a few months Juxta Nation will be presenting itself in different spaces through the diversity of voices that make Juxta Nartion.
