Your Support Is Helping Build the Next Generation

Dear Friends, Namaste!

Because of you, more than 100 young women from the remote Himalayan villages of Nepal are pursuing college degrees that once seemed impossible. Today, they are studying to become doctors, lawyers, teachers, engineers, environmental scientists, entrepreneurs, and future leaders.

Thank you for believing in girls who simply needed an opportunity.

At The Small World, education means more than paying college tuition. We believe that mentorship, leadership, friendship, and a strong support network help young women thrive long after graduation.

That is why we organize our annual Girls' Retreat Conference with the theme "Breathe. Bond. Believe."

The retreat brings together scholarship recipients from across the Solukhumbu (Everest) region who are studying at different colleges and universities throughout Nepal. Although they come from different villages and are pursuing different careers, they gather as one family—sharing experiences, encouraging one another, discussing challenges, building leadership skills, and creating lifelong friendships.

Today, we are already seeing that impact. More than five dozen graduates of The Small World's Girls' Higher Education Program are now serving as teachers, nurses, government employees, police officers, members of the Nepal Army, trekking guides, entrepreneurs, social workers, and local leaders. Your generosity continues to create lasting change long after a scholarship ends.

One of our students, Binita from Solukhumbu, shared:

"Before joining The Small World, I never imagined I would attend university. Meeting other girls like me gives me confidence that we can change our communities together."

We Need Your Help Again

Our immediate goal is to raise USD $15,000 to cover the next tuition installment for our scholarship students. Your support will help ensure that no student has to pause or leave college because of financial hardship.

If you are able, please consider making a donation of any amount. Every contribution helps another young woman remain in college and move one step closer to achieving her dreams.

You can also make a tremendous difference by sharing this project or our retreat video with your friends, family, and community—in your own words and in your own language. People know you, trust you, and your voice can inspire someone to support a young woman who might otherwise be forced to leave college because of financial hardship.

Get Involved

If you have ideas to strengthen this project, would like to become more actively involved in our fundraising efforts, or would like to share your knowledge, skills, or professional experience with our students, we would love to hear from you.

The Small World is also a U.S.-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, making tax-deductible donations possible for eligible U.S. donors.

Please feel free to contact Karma Sherpa directly at karma@thesmallworld.org

Without your support, these young women would not be in college today. Thank you for making their dreams possible.

From all of us at The Small World, and from every young woman whose future you are helping shape, thank you for believing in their potential.

With gratitude,

The Small World Team
