School is out for The Summer, and we are happy to report that we were able to provide breakfast two days a week for 177 children at Coopers Town Primary School last year. As you know, a nourishing breakfast helps children stay focused throughout the day and improves the chance of academic success. Our children in Abaco have been through a lot in the last few years, including the most destructive hurricane in the History of the Bahamas and a global pandemic in a tourist driven economy. We want to give these children a leg up in school and the best chance of academic and personal success.
We recently held a fundraising event in Abaco in order to raise money to continue the program next year. Our wish is that when the chidren return to school in September, they will continue to have the benefit of a nutritious breakfast to start their school day. Thanks to our Coporate Sponsors and generous donors, we raised $40,000 and reached 80% of our goal. With your help we can get to 100% so that we can continue the program next year.
We have included a couple of pictures from the event, which was a lot of fun. I hope that you can attend next year, and I hope and pray that you will continue to suport this program for our children in Abaco.
