"Energy and persistence conquers all things."
- Ben Franklin -
Troy Feaste, Founder and President of Abaco Youth Baseball is determined to get his players to the National Championships - no small task for a group of players and volunteers in MurphyTown still recovering from Dorian, the worst hurricane in the history of the Bahamas, not to mention a global pandemic in a tourist driven economy. They started with a dozen baseball gloves, a few baseballs, and some rakes and shovels less than two years ago, and have made great strides towards their goal.
With your help they will be sending their 18 and under, 14 and under, and 12 and under Boys Teams to The Bahamas Baseball Association National Championship in Freeport in June 2022. These boys have worked extremely hard to get to this point, and have learned a lot about baseball, but more importantly they have learned about team work and discipline. Help our players accomplish their goals this year by making a contribution towards, uniforms, equipment and travel expenses
The players were in need of some tough competition to prepare for nationals. There is not much opportunity for that on the island so the first step was to raise money to participate in their first tournament in Grand Bahama. The whole community came together to raise money for tournament fees and travel expenses at the First Annual Abaco Youth Baseball Fun Run. The Junior and Senior Boys and Girls teams traveled by boat to Freeport for their first tournament. It was a grand adventure for the players who acquired the needed travel and playing experience to compete in Nationals.
Please consider making a donation to keep the momentum going for these industrious youth and our dedicated volunteers and coaches. Abaco Youth Baseball has brought our community together and given us a sense of hope during some extremely trying times.
Thank you for your support. Stay #AbacoStrong
