Vulnerable babies in North-western Ethiopia

We just want to use this opportunity to thank you for the incredible difference you have made in the life of many babies!

This year we have taken in a record amount of babies. The majority were abandoned, some were left behind by the mothers who were raped and couldn't face caring for their babies as the memories of the horrific events which happened to them were for them reflected every time they looked at their babies. We still give these mothers time to come back and take their babies. We had a few cases where incest was involved and mentally unstable mothers with no known relatives. 

It is sad to see these innocent babies that are unwanted by their families. Fortunately we have lovely staff who shower them with love and care and it is so encouraging to see these babies grow and develop. The higlight is always their first birthday. 

We currently have 11 babies in our care. 

We reported on our baby with spina bifeda who we were able to take to Addis Ababa for surgery. That little baby has recovered and no complications were developed. She is a happy baby!

We reported on a baby who was found abandoned and found by a local farmer, a miracle that the baby survived. The baby is doing well and it is amazing to see the difference.

All the other babies we took in are thriving, which is a miracle in itself. We give them the care and attention that they deserve and sometimes it means to travel far to give them medical attention but to have all these beautiful and healthy babies, knowing their disadvantaged start in life, is a blessing.

We know that without your support we would not have been able to take in all these babies and give them the best possible care. We are greatly indebted to you. We can love and care but unless we have people who give the financial means we would have to start refusing to take in more babies.
