Ewafe Project April Update

By Emmie Corbett | Ewafe Project UK Leader

We want every child to be loved and nurtured
We want every child to be loved and nurtured

Since our last report in the New Year there have been exciting developments with the Ewafe Project. We are half way through building our Ewafe project home and pleased to say that this building project is going well. It is amazing to think that just 6 months ago the site was just a bare piece of scrub land, and now we have a building with foundations and walls! Photos that Olivia took whilst visitng the home are attached in this report.

Following completing the walls, our next fundraising step is to raise the money to put a roof on the building. We are very excited to announce that on Saturday 03 May, a special fundraising concert is taking place in London, at St Luke's Church Kentish Town, specifically for this! The ‘Raising the Roof’ concert is hosted by Michael Kiwanuka, and Marcus Foster, Beth Rowley, Stokes William and CJ & the Birds are also performing. Tickets are £25 and can be purchased at www.musicglue.com/ewafe-project. Please come along, spread the word and invite your friends! We hope it will be a great success and make a big difference in the lives of many abandoned children in Kampala.

Our hope for the Ewafe Project home is for it to be a safe place for abandoned children to live whilst we either find their family members or foster families for them to live with. It will also be a place for children who are at boarding school to stay during their school holidays. We want every child to have a safe, loving and nurturing home and family to belong to. This home will help with the short term immediate issues we are faced with when an abadoned child first comes to our attention, offering them somewhere safe to stay where they will be looked after.

We want to say thank you to everyone who has donated and supported this project. The project wouldn't be where it is now without all your support, so thank you for making this all possible!
